Kenya’s political parties, candidates and public officers eyeing elective positions will face a series of key deadlines ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Public officers seeking elective seats will be required to resign by February 9, 2027, while political parties must submit their membership lists and details of planned party primaries by March 16.
Party primaries and internal dispute resolution processes are expected to be completed by May 9, which is also the deadline for independent candidates to submit their names and symbols.
Campaigns and candidate nominations will then begin on May 29, with nominations closing on June 9.Nomination disputes must be concluded by June 12, while political parties and candidates have until July 27 to submit the names of their election agents.
Campaigns will officially end on August 7, ahead of the General Election on August 10, 2027.The calendar sets out the key milestones that political parties, aspirants and voters will need to follow as the country prepares for the 2027 polls.
